iPad test

Did this on my iPad as a test.  I think if I can get used to the stylus, I might do that more often.  Certainly saves paper...

Woke up early this morning and did some sketching.  Finished it off with a brush pen.  I need to buy an actual good one sometime soon.

Some more warm up sketches.  This time working on expressions.  What are these a warm up to, you might ask?  I'm wondering the same thing myself.

Cap

Saw Captain America over the weekend.  Great stuff.  Definitely one of the best Marvel Studio films (if not the best one).  Felt like an old-fashioned adventure movie.  Which is refreshing, actually.  Not an ounce of cynicism to be found.  Glad to see it's doing well, too.  Here's hoping we get more WWII-era Cap adventures in the future.

Highlights:

• Hugo Weaving's accent
• "Why, fondue is nothing but hot cheese and bread!"
• Cap destroys a GIGANTIC tank.
• "I had a date."

belfast

I was in Belfast yesterday and today.  Super nice day today, so I did some quick sketches of Belfast Harbor. Hopefully I'll be posting more regularly soon.

"Ha-HA!!"

I was a pretty big fan of Zorro when I was a kid.  Had the cape.  Had the mask.  This didn't start out as a Zorro pic, but once I sketched in the smile I was pretty sure that's where I was going with it.  None of that brooding hero shtick for him.  Anyway, this was done with pencils, and then a real brush and ink, and then colored in Photoshop.
